The Jharkhand State Open School was registered. To offer specialized services to the government and other agencies in the field of education, in general, and school education, in particular, for the development and growth of distance and open school system and develop proper curriculum for vocational and enduring education to prepare student population for the world of work.
To as certain linkages with traditional education systems like State Open Schools, Sanskrit Boards and Madarsas with predictable education system with mobility across them and equivalence between them, the JSOS wishes to work in close association with the Open Schools, State Open Schools, Sanskrit Boards and Madarsas. In this regard, JSOS will also follow the norms for conducting examinations as also follow National Curriculum Framework, 2005, as amended from time to time
Jharkhand State Open School was envisaged as a comprehensive instructional release institution that offered the autonomy to students to get education without the bottleneck of attending daily classes. We have succeeded in creating a distance education program as a planned extended learning endeavour. JSOS has gained an expertise in delivering instructional possessions and thereby providing opportunities to students located away from the organization.

Jharkhand State Open School (JSOS) registered with the Govt. of Jharkhand and has submitted for Membership of Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) under MHRD Govt. of India Vide Ref. No:COBSE/C.77/2014 Dated 26 Dec 2014 to provide secondary and higher secondary education to students under open and distance education and to conduct examinations, testing and certification as follows.
Jharkhand State Open School (JSOS) was set up and registered in 2014. A copy of the Registration Certificate is enclosed herewith for ready reference. The JSOS identified the Jharkhand State to provide education up to secondary/ senior secondary level, especially to the children belonging to Scheduled Tribes. It was observed that there was an urgent need to reach the STs, socially and educationally disadvantaged classes and other culturally, economically, geographically weaker sections of the society, as literacy rate among these groups, particularly among girl-child is very low. In view of the need to accelerate the pace and progress of secondary education, especially in tribal/ rural conglomeration, Jharkhand State Open School (JSOS) proposed to collaborate with the State of Jharkhand Based on the experience gained over the period, it may spread its wings to similar pockets in other States.
